Building on previous CARE conferences, CARE2026 marks the third gathering in the series, an international platform dedicated to advancing climate adaptation and resilience through interdisciplinary dialogue and practical engagement. The conference brings together government leaders, scientists, policymakers, financiers and practitioners to examine how cities can understand and respond to intensifying climate risks. 

CARE2026 is deliberately structured to reflect how climate risk unfolds in reality, from scientific insight to cascading system stress, and from system stress to societal and economic choices. It aims to strengthen collective understanding, clarify trade-offs, and support more informed and coordinated pathways toward climate adaptation.

EVMT Mainland Orientation Study Trip 2025
Date: 22 to 28 August 2026 (Saturday to Friday)
Destination: Shenzhen and Kubuqi Desert, Inner Mongolia, China
Transportation Arrangement:

• 22 August: Coach from HK to Shenzhen for a one-day visit and overnight stay
• 23 August: Departure Flight from Bao'an Shenzhen to Erliban, Baotou
• 28 August: Return Flight from Erliban, Baotou/Bao'an Shenzhen, and coach from Airport to HKUST

Flight details:

• 23 August: Bao'an Shenzhen/Erliban, Baotou ZH8987 (08:40-12:10)
• 28 August: Erliban, Baotou/Bao'an Shenzhen ZH8988 (13:35-17:05)
• Group tickets have been purchased, and all students are required to adhere to this itinerary. Early arrival or stay behind is not permitted.

Course enrollment: ENVR1811 Environmental Management and Technology Study Trip I (1-credit)
Course assessment: A study trip report of at least 500 words to be submitted within 2 weeks after the study trip
Program fees: $3,000
